The "Environmental Resources Monitoring in Lebanon" project (ERML) aims at improving environmental monitoring in Lebanon in key sectors, namely on coastal and marine resources and on urban air quality, by implementing appropriate management programmes and providing policy guidance.
The project addresses environmental priorities defined by the Ministry of Environment (MoE), namely the sustainable management of the coastal area and the improvement of urban air quality.
The project is in line with the Ministry of Environment's mission statement and work programme for 2011 – 2013 and reflects also the recommendations of UNEP's Post Conflict Environmental Assessment report for Lebanon in 2007.
يهدف مشروع «تطوير مراقبة الموارد البيئية في لبنان» الى تحسين مفهوم الجودة البيئية في لبنان لا سيما البيئة البحرية والساحلية من جهة ونوعية الهواء من جهة أخرى وذلك من خلال تنفيذ برامج لتحسين إدارتها ومراجعة التشريعات وتوفير التوصيات لسياسات بيئية مناسبة.
يأتي هذا المشروع ليتماشى مع برنامج عمل وزارة البيئة للسنتين 2011-2013 ومع توصيات برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة (UNEP) الواردة في تقريره «تقييم ما بعد الصراع في لبنان» عام 2007.
